Adjudicators Remarks - C Brian Buckley (handwritten original shown below)
Stylish approach to the music at the start
B- well spaced overall with attention to detail
D - Well balanced chords in muted cornets
F- Descending scale effective to G
G- Atmospheric playing throughout to J
J- Excellent dynamic contrasts
K Well balanced
L- Excellent but basses not always together in rhythm
O - mostly effective sounds easy? Carillon effects effective before Q
Q - rather loaned for the dynamic but there is so much musicality to commend - Cornet -breath under the curve. Euph not at all comfortable. This is rather loose into S
S Balance does not allow horns to emerge often S Dim - well controlled. Loose entry before T.
Lontano is distant not legato in school?, Secure link into V (AL?)
W starts well, but there is a tendency to get faster
Y (AL?)
Z - clarity of fugues rather lost in the tempo variations
AA loud for mf
CC - poor balance.
Much of interest but music just needs the more spacing to really succeed. Final bars quite convincing.
So much to enjoy in this performance - but take care, all the music needs simple spacing and style to remain consistent throughout the performance.
Yorkshire Regional Championships

Kingdom of Dragons
Very good start -musically convincing. Tempo and style is appropriate
B - The music has space - well done percussion.
E - Some tuning issues in cornets but the music moves along well.
F - Well controlled / rhythmically clear
G - Well done convincing
K - Maybe a little heavy but appropriate style.
L- lacked cresc and dim
O- not always balanced - percussion do well
Q Too loud but music flows well - appropriate style, cornet cadenza not phrased correctly. Euph solo is not persuasive but you have a pleasing tone. This section is??? in terms of togetherness.
S - good sounds evident
T - too legato but percussion do well
W - Started well but the tempo is not steady causing clarity to be lost. Give the semi's space/ pulse.
Y lacks detail
AA - too heavy needs more rhythm
CC - This is convincing. Final chord is a bit raucous at the end but well balanced.
Overall a good performance from a good sounding band. At times you lacked clarity but you captured the mood of the music. At times you rushed the semiquavers and this affected the overall tempo and style.
